hardware explorations

ew jammer + radar/terrain mapper

A set of hardware explorations in electronic sensing, radar, and terrain mapping.

sensing radar terrain mapping hardware

overview

These projects sit around a question I keep returning to: how can a system sense and make sense of the physical environment? The work spans EW concepts, radar, and terrain mapping.

what interests me

I'm drawn to the boundary between signals and the world they describe. A datasheet tells you how a sensor is supposed to behave, in theory, under clean lab conditions. Real hardware adds noise, drift, and interpretation calls a datasheet never mentions, and untangling what the signal is doing underneath all of that is what keeps pulling me back to this kind of project.

approach

This is exploratory work: I'm building intuition across sensing, mapping, and the systems that turn raw measurements into something useful, one hardware quirk at a time.

documentation

This page tracks the learning curve. I'll fill in build notes and results as the projects develop, and some details stay high level for now.
