ScanSafe was an early attempt at building a focused consumer product around a genuinely useful everyday problem: making food-allergen information easier to check.
what mattered
The product had to make a potentially stressful decision feel clear and quick. That meant thinking beyond the app itself: trust, the exact moment someone reaches for it, and how honestly it handled what it couldn't be sure of.
from build to sale
After shipping ScanSafe, I sold it through Flippa. It was my first experience taking a project through more than development: from an idea and a finished app to a product someone else could see value in owning.
takeaway
ScanSafe made product building feel real. The app itself came together fast. Getting a stranger to trust it enough to hand over their allergy list and use it before buying groceries took a lot more figuring out.
